Allen Railroad Days will be the featured exhibit in April at the Allen Heritage Depot. The Allen Depot is a replica of the original Houston & Texas Central Railroad Station. That railroad played a pivotal role in the creation and growth of Allen starting in 1874.
The exhibit of model trains representing a variety of railroads meandering through scenic settings will once again fill the building with the “clickety-clack” and whistle sounds of the railroads of days gone by.
The Dallas-Ft. Worth O-Scale Model Railroad Club and the Lionel Modular Club will display their trains along with some fellows from the Allen Senior Center.
The Depot Museum is located at 100 E. Main St. in Allen. The exhibit will run April 10/11 and 17/18. Saturdays 10a.m.-2p.m. and Sundays 1-3p.m. Weekday appointments may be made with Stan, call 972-359-8242.
